THE MORRIGAN ACADEMY OF IRISH DANCE
Find you passion for Irish Dance.....
About Us
The Morrigan Academy of Irish Dance has been operating for seven years under the governance of CRDM - Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa.
With a diverse range of dancers from infants to seniors, the academy currently consists of 30 participants. Our dancers showcase their talent and compete in feiseanna throughout the year, both at local and national levels, as well as on the world stage.
We take great pride in our dancers' dedication and passion for Irish dance, constantly striving for excellence and honing their skills. The Morrigan Academy provides a nurturing and supportive environment for our dancers to grow and flourish, and we are thrilled to be a part of their journey.

Our Mission
At our school, we strive to instill in all students the values of gracefulness in both victory and defeat. We aim to teach them not only the skills of Irish dance but also the art of performing in front of an audience, socializing, and forging new friendships along the way.
Our ultimate goal is to inspire confidence in our students, encouraging them to believe in themselves and take responsibility for their actions. However, we emphasize the importance of understanding that failure is not the end, but rather an opportunity to learn from our mistakes.
School Moto
" We Never Fail Only Learn From Our Mistakes "
Through our holistic approach to teaching, we aim to prepare our students for a lifetime of growth and success, both on and off the dance floor.

Why Irish Dancing?
Irish dancing is a unique and captivating form of dance characterized by its distinctive footwork and minimal upper-body movement.
The origins of this style can be traced back to the limited venues for public dancing during its early years. Irish ceili dancing, on the other hand, is a highly traditional dance form that dates back to the 1500s. It is always accompanied by traditional Irish music and includes various types of dances.
The combination of the lively footwork and the enchanting melodies creates a mesmerizing spectacle that celebrates Irish culture and heritage.
Whether it's the energetic solo performances or the synchronized group numbers, Irish dancing continues to captivate audiences worldwide with its vibrant rhythms and rich history.
I'm Hollie,
I have been dancing for 32 years, 18 of which I have spent competing.
Dancing feels like it's in my blood; it's an addiction that I can never give up. I began dancing at the age of 10 after being inspired by the incredible performances of River Dance.
At the age of 15, I made a significant change by moving schools. With the help of positive thoughts and encouragements, I dedicated myself to my passion and within just one year, I started winning my own championships. My hard work and determination paid off at the age of 17 when I achieved my first National title.
I am extremely proud of my accomplishments, especially winning two national titles and participating in the All Irelands where I placed 18th. Additionally, I secured 4th place at the Europeans and 5th place at the Worlds. The Leinsters competition also saw me finish in 4th place.
Unfortunately, my journey was hindered by an injury, making the last few years challenging. It was during this time that I realized it was time to retire and pass on my knowledge to others. I initially started teaching under my old school alongside my teachers but decided to venture out on my own about 7 years ago.
Since then, I have never looked back.
